The Snyder Tigers will be looking for their first district win today as they host Levelland at 8 p.m. at Tiger Gym. They had a good non-district run, but Snyder is in a very tough basketball district with the likes of Estacado, Lamesa and Levelland.
Try to make it out to the games today and the Lady Tigers will play at 6:30 p.m.

There won’t be much basketball on the East Coast for a few days if the predicted snowy weather materializes.
The weather service is predicting five to 10 inches of snow in New York City and 12 to 18 inches inPhiladelphia. But Baltimore and Washington, D.C. could see up to two feet of snow, according to forecasters.
On Wednesday, a little snow shut down the nation’s capital and I’m not for sure if that was really bad.
D.C.’s mayor apologized for that community’s inadequate response.
Maybe we need to send Mayor Tony Wofford up there to explain weather forecasts to her.

On the subject of government, Rep. Randy Neugebauer was in the office this week and we were talking about the primaries and who would eventually be on the tickets for president. We drew no conclusions, but both agreed it is kinda’ fun to watch the goings-on with the candidates.
And since he is not running this year, he was quick to point out that it is a lot more fun this go round.

It was good to hear from Colorado River Municipal Water District (CRMWD) General Manager John Grant that Lake J.B. Thomas has been stocked a couple of times recently.
In the Thursday edition of the newspaper, a photo showed John with a copy of Joe Pickle’s book, Water in a Dry and Thirsty Land.
If you haven’t read it, it is a very informative description of how Lake J.B. Thomas came to be.
Thomas was the lake for lots of folks from the Midland-Odessa area years ago, and if it holds its level, we should see those folks drifting back again.
We’ve got two lakes not that far from us, but don’t really think our community has taken advantage of that fact by promoting it.
