Share the love

Dear Editor:
New Year’s Day, I was lazily sitting and watching TV. A commercial for Shriners’ Hospital for children came on and a child asked, “What is love?”
What a great question.
If you can watch these little ones and not feel the love, then you can’t realize the great need in our country for wonderful people who help children with disabilities.
I personally know about disabilities in families — we had an aunt who had a mental problem because of a high fever. If I have half a lick of sense, it is because of the love my family shared. We could see the love all of us had for the special person in our family. All of us looked out for Aunt Sis and took care of her, although, if truth be told, Aunt Sis took care of my brothers and me.
My aunt could sing every song that was on the Grand Ol’ Opry radio show on Saturday nights. I can still hear her sing, see her beautiful smile and remember how she could tell you exactly what she needed.
Look around. See the love and the beauty. Enjoy every opportunity that comes into your life. Share the love God has given us and enjoy.
Happy New Year.
