COVID-19 cases on the rise

Cases of COVID-19 are in Scurry County are rising, even as the pace of recoveries picks up steam.

Over the past week, since the July 24 update, there have been 50 additional positive COVID-19 test results and 45 recoveries. 

Scurry County officials announced Friday that four additional individuals had tested positive for COVID-19 since Thursday, and six additional individuals were listed as recovered.

The Texas Department of Health and Human Services reported that as of July 17 – the most recent date for which data is available – Snyder Oaks had two active employee cases and one active resident case. The website listed seven resident recoveries.

There were no cases reported among staff or residents at Good Life Senior Living and Memory Care.

Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials announced in their Friday update that there were now 21 Price Daniel Unit employees who have recovered from COVID-19, while 13 are active cases. There are 251 active offender cases with no recoveries.

Nearly 90 individuals were taken off medical restriction between Thursday and Friday at the unit.

Price Daniel is one of 101 units with active COVID-19 cases and one of 37 on precautionary lockdown.
