1932-2020

Billy Ray Terry, 88, of Snyder died on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, in Sweetwater.

A private family service will be held and internment will be at Hillside Memorial Garden. There is no visitation planned at this time. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Billy Ray Terry was born on April 3, 1932, in Sweetwater to Tom and Edna (Armstrong). He married Allene Tyler on Nov. 10, 1951, in Sweetwater. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 as a machinist. He would then use his skills to work for 18 years at U.S. Gypsum in Sweetwater. He then moved to Snyder to work at the Magnesium plant and Snyder Well Services as a mechanic working floors, and later a welder. He would eventually work at Pool Service as a mechanic and also managed West TX Machine Shop before he finally retired with M.L. Duke working in his machine shop.

Bill was an Eagle Scout, and served as a scoutmaster in Sweetwater for many years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a servant for the Lord. He worked many Walks to Emmaus.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his son, Ronald Terry; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Terry; three sisters, Inalee Gunnels, Evelyn Reeves and Maxine Warshaw; and his brother, Wayne Terry.

Survivors include two sons, Brent Terry and his wife, Fay, of Granbury and Jeff Terry and his wife, Donna, of Snyder; his sister, Irene Ludlum of Sweetwater; five grandchildren, Miranda Hancock and her husband, Kenny, of Hermleigh, Sabrina Terry of Midland, Bill Terry and his wife, Justine, of Horseheads, N.Y., Amy McLeroy and her husband, Tim, of Springboro, Ohio, and Ty Terry and his wife, Ashley, of Roswell, N.M.; and several great-grandchildren, Blake and Sydney Hancock, Lyla, Quinley, and Elora Terry, Ayden, Austin, and Tyler Terry and Melody and Alexander McKleroy.

W. Lendal McMillan, 87, died December 19, 2020.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home in Austin followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Austin Memorial Park.
