Jesusita "Susie" Medrano Garza, 67, of Snyder died Friday, Oct. 16, 2020.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Snyder Cemetery with Father Raj Arokiasamy officiating.
Jesusita was born on June 3, 1953, to Raymond Medrano and Guadalupe (Vera) Medrano. She was born, raised and lived all her life in Snyder. She married Jose Guadalupe Garza Sr. on Oct. 14, 1966, in Snyder.
She was a homemaker for many years. Jesusita enjoyed singing, dancing, listening to music and spending time with all her kids and grandkids. She was young at heart and had a smile that lit up the whole room the second she walked in. You could always hear the loving, kindness and cheerfulness in her voice every time she spoke. There was no such thing as adopted, half siblings or stepkids; to her you were family, no matter what.
She loved to celebrate all the holidays, but Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorites. She was always like a little kid when she unwrapped all her gifts and her eyes always lit up, when she watched her family open theirs. She was always so thoughtful and remembered everyone's birthdays and would even buy them a gift, even if it was a little something.
The love that her family will always have for their amazing and beautiful mother is like no other. They will always cherish the memories and the bond that they had with their precious Mommy. She will be deeply missed, and will forever live in her family's hearts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Raymond Medrano Jr.; and two sisters: Consuelo Medrano and Delia Vera Williams.
Survivors include her husband; her children, Hermelinda “Lin” Garza and her partner, Joen Alvarado, Lupe Garza Jr., Belinda Aviles and her husband, Tino Aviles, Benita Garza and Julio Carrera, and Jose Luis Garza and his wife, Natasha Garza; family friend, Graciela Rodriguez; grandkids, Manuel Garza, Olivia Barrera, Jessica Hernandez, Jose Guadalupe Garza III, Makenzie Cook, Isabel Tavarez, Maribel Tavarez, Fidel Lopez, Rianna Lopez, Adrianna Lopez, Mia Bishop, Adriel Garza, Julius Garza, Jaeden Garza, Jose Luis Jr. Garza, Juleena Garza and Jensen Garza; her great-grandkids, Ethan and Kamryn Garza, Dominic Dominguez, Bryanna Montoya, Jay, Nikolas, Nathan Hernandez, Aiden, Aaliyah, Arillana, and Jose Guadalupe Garza IV and Cassian Cook; six brothers, Lorenso Medrano, Manuel Medrano, Henry Medrano, David Medrano, Antonio Medrano and Jessie Medrano; and four sisters, Anita Padilla, Juanita Carrisalez, Rosalinda Guzman and Theodora Marentes.
She was excited and looking forward to meeting her unborn granddaughter, Jaeana Garza.
