1933-2020

Pamela Marlene Potter John, 87, died Oct. 17, 2020, in Eden.

Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way in San Angelo.

Pamela was born on Aug, 2, 1933, in Cambridge, England, to Sidney and Winifred Potter.

She spent more than 20 years as a military wife, traveling all over the world, including Germany, England and several places in the United States, making friendships that would last her entire lifetime. Upon retirement from the military, they settled in San Angelo and she worked for more than 10 years at Mr. G’s Burgers, where she again made many friends. When Mr. G’s closed, she applied for a job at Ethicon and worked as a global technology operator for 17 years before retiring in 2003. After retirement from Ethicon, she spent most of her time doing what she loved most- BINGO!!

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, David.

Survivors include her daughter, Angel Duncan and her husband, Terry, of Snyder; her son, Haydn John and his wife, Diane, of San Angelo; her grandchildren, Lisa Duncan of Lubbock, Amber Duncan of Lubbock, Sean Duncan of Snyder, Shannon Hitchcock and her husband, James, of San Angelo and Brandon John and his wife, Amanda, of San Angelo; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kylee, Garrett, Shayla, Rylin, Bryson, Jonas, Evan, Savannah, Landon and River.

Clifton Earl Griffith, 61, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020.

Family visitation is planned from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Snyder with the Rev. David Strunk officiating, assisted by the Rev. Allan Lane and the Rev. Bruce Hess. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery.

Mr. Griffith was born on Feb. 14, 1959, in Sweetwater to Bobby and Shirley (Boiles) Griffith. He was the pastor of Union Baptist Church and a member of The Baptist Church Builders of Texas for over 22 years and Kairos Prison Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Richard Griffith.

Survivors include his wife, Susan (Matthies) Griffith of Snyder; two sons, Joshua Griffith and his wife, Lisa, of Snyder and Jeremy Griffith of Lubbock; his grandson, Tristan Griffith of Lubbock; his brother, Bobby Griffith Jr. and his wife, Gloria, of Roby; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family asks that memorials be made to Union Baptist Church, 6026 W. Hwy. 180. Please designate preference of Union Baptist Church General Fund, Church Builders, Servants Hearts Ministries or Kairos Prison Ministry.
