2019 Snyder Hall of Honor class announced

Tickets for the Sept. 20 Snyder High School Athletic Hall of Honor induction ceremony are now on sale.
The 2019 class includes the 1985 state champion volleyball team, track athlete Gail Read (class of 1963) and football players Reginald Scarbrough (class of 1961) and Dick Hayes (class of 1960).
Members of the 1985 volleyball team, as listed in the 1986 Tiger’s Lair yearbook are Stacy Dunk, Pam Casias, Tammy Williamson, Leslie Ward, Sharnette Thompson, Kima McLarry, Donna Clay, Allison Adams, Shondra Robinson, Donna Anderson, Hope Hernandez and Karlene Thompson. The managers were Stephanie Blair, Joan Godair and Janice Godair. The coaches were Patty Grimmett and Vicki Nelms.
Tickets are $25 each and are available at the Snyder ISD athletic fieldhouse on Denison Ave., the Snyder Chamber of Commerce office or AimBank. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Hall of Honor committee members are currently selling tables for the ceremony. A table of four is $150 and a table of eight is $300. 
All proceeds from ticket sales will be used to award six scholarships to a Snyder High School senior in the spring. A minimum of $500 is given to each recipient.
This year’s ceremony will be held at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center and Spanish Inn will cater the chicken-fried steak meal. The banquet will begin at 11:30 a.m. and afterwards, the honorees will visit current high school athletes.
The induction class will be honored prior to the 7 p.m. football game against Andrews at Tiger Stadium.
The committee has a room block at Fairfield Inn and Suites through Sept. 11 at a cost of $69 per night. Contact the hotel for information on reserving a room.
