Taxpayers can receive free income tax preparation assistance in Snyder this year.
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) will have volunteers available at the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center to help low- and middle-income taxpayers file income tax forms from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
Volunteers will also be available at the senior center on March 28.
Last year nationwide, more than 1 million taxpayers took advantage of the AARP program and local volunteers said the turnout in Snyder was good.
Taxpayers should bring 2017 tax returns; 2018 tax documents, including Social Security statements, all W-2 or 1099 forms and health insurance 1095 forms; Social Security cards for each person listed on 1040 forms; bank information for direct deposits; and any receipts for itemizing deductions.
