Scurry County Hospital District board incumbents Loretta McCravey and Andrea Martini have joined fellow incumbent Benny Marricle in filing to run in the May 2 election to retain their seats.
With Friday the deadline to file for the local election, no challengers have yet filed to oppose any of the three candidates in that race.
Thus far, the only contested race in the election is for City Council District 2, in which Mitch Hickman has filed to challenge incumbent Steve Rich for the seat.
The other city incumbents, including Vernon Clay in District 1, Steve Highfield in District 3 and Thomas Strayhorn in District 4, have filed to run, but as of yet have no challengers.
In the Snyder ISD school board race, incumbents Carrie Richardson in Place 4 and Doug Neff in Place 5 have filed.
In the Scurry County College District board race, incumbents Drew Bullard and Mike McWilliams have filed.
The deadline to file for a seat on any of the four entities’ boards is Friday. Early voting begins April 20.
