Residents who live within the Snyder ISD boundaries have until April 7 to register to vote for the May 7 board of trustees election.
The election will feature the two at-large seats on the board. Incumbents Jim Drake and Ron Hester will be joined on the ballot by Lauren Collier.
Everyone in the district boundaries is eligible to vote in the election.
Early voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 25 through May 3 at College on the Square. Since the school district is the only election on the ballot, it was not required to hold two voting days of 12 hours.
On May 7, voting will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at College on the Square. Voters must provide a photo ID prior to casting ballots.
The Snyder Daily News will publish a question-and-answer feature with the three candidates in the April 23-24 weekend edition.
Three local taxing entities will not have elections on May 7 because candidates did not draw opposition.
The Snyder City Council voted earlier this month to cancel its election for the four district seats. The four incumbents who retained their seats were Vernon Clay in District 1, Steve Rich in District 2, Steve Highfield in District 3 and Thomas Strayhorn in District 4.
The Western Texas College board of trustees, which will officially cancel its election during an April 11 meeting, had two seats up for election this year. Incumbents Tim Riggan (Place 3) and Dr. Jay Kidd (Place 4) did not draw opponents.
The Cogdell Memorial Hospital board of directors cancelled its election after three candidates did not draw an opponent. Loretta McCravey was the only candidate for the Pct. 2 seat and Bennie Marricle will represent Pct. 4. Andrea Martini will be an at-large member on the board.
Incumbents Jim Bob Cave and Morris Light did not seek re-election and the board will have to appoint two members to the finance committee during the May meeting.
Cave also served as the board’s vice president and directors will hold elections for officers during the May meeting.
