The Scurry County Appraisal District’s Appraisal Review Board (ARB) will begin hearing taxpayer protests on Thursday.
Prior to holding the hearings, the ARB is scheduled to administer the oath of office to auxiliary member David Holt, who will not vote unless a member of the ARB is not present.
Board members will also vote on corrections made to prior rolls and the 2019 supplemental appraisal records.
ARB members will then begin taxpayer protest hearings, which includes “all matters permitted by (the Texas Property Tax Code), including the 2018 protests filed by Kinder Morgan Production and/or related companies concerning mineral interests,” the agenda’s notice stated.
The board has scheduled a second round of hearings for Friday which will include Kinder Morgan’s 2019 protest.
However, the notice stated that portions of that hearing may be closed to the public “to consider proprietary or confidential information.”
Thursday’s meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the appraisal district office. A time has been set aside for the public to comment and ask questions of the board, the agenda stated.
