Archery club to host 3D tune-up shoot

The Scurry County 4-H Club Archery Club will host a preseason 3D tune-up shoot on Sept. 8.
The archery and fun shoot will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at the nature trail in Towle Park.
The cost is $30 for adults and $20 for students, if paid by Aug. 31. The cost after Aug. 31 will be $35 for adults and $25 for students. 
Participants will need to check in on the day of the event by 8 a.m.
Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age division, which are adult male, adult female, third through fifth grade, sixth through eighth grade and ninth through 12th grade. 
Four different divisions will be able to compete — bare bow, recurve aided bow, composite aided bow and composite unaided National Archery in the Schools Program bow.
The nature trail will have 20 different 3D targets placed throughout the course.
Other competitions scheduled during the day are a long-distance iron pig shoot for $5, a William Tell apple shoot for $5 and a sky archery fun shoot for $10 per round.
