Armstrong sentences five men to probation

Five men were given probated sentences after they entered guilty pleas in District Judge Ernie B. Armstrong’s courtroom recently.
Michael Floyd Thurman, 27, of Snyder, was given a five-year probated sentence after his conviction for possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony.
In addition to his sentence, Thurman was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $1,013 in court and attorney fees and $180 in restitution, as well as participate in the TAIP program.
On April 26, Thurman was found in possession of more than one gram, but less than four grams, of methamphetamine.
Robert Everett Jones Jr., 54, of Frisco, was given a five-year probated sentence after his conviction for driving while intoxicated, a third-degree felony.
In addition to his sentence, Jones was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $385 in restitution and $1,128 in court and attorney fees, as well as participate in the TAIP program.
Jones was found operating a motor vehicle in September 2014 with an alcohol concentration level greater than .08.
He has two previous driving while intoxicated convictions, in April 1987 and January 2010, both in Scurry County.
Rashodd Quincy Ishmel, 33, of League City, was given a two-year sentence, probated five years, after his conviction for possession of a controlled substance, a state-jail felony.
In addition to his sentence, Ishmel was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $180 in restitution, $1,013 in court and attorney fees and the participate in the TAIP program.
On Feb. 25, he was found in possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine.
Andrew Bryant Moncevais, 21, of Snyder, was given a five-year probated sentence, deferred adjudication, after he entered a guilty plea to assault, family violence, a third-degree felony.
He was also ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $953 in court and attorney fees and to participate in the TAIP program.
On Aug. 5, Moncevais knowingly caused bodily injury to a family member by choking her.
Timothy Jacob Arellano, 24, of Hermleigh, was given a two-year sentence, probated five years, deferred adjudication, in exchange for his guilty plea to burglary of a building, a state-jail felony.
In addition to his sentence, Arellano was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $1,498 in restitution and $953 in court and attorney fees, as well as participate in the TAIP program.
On June 30, Arellano entered a building without the owner’s consent and attempted to commit or committed theft of property.
