Armstrong sentences three people to prison

Two people had their probation revoked and a third person was sentenced to prison by District Judge Ernie B. Armstrong last week.
Steven Ray Wright, 28, had his probation revoked for the state-jail felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, an Oct. 7, 2012 offense.
His probation was revoked for operating a vehicle without a license in January, failing a drug test in November, failure to pay his probation fee and restitution in November and December and breaking curfew in January.
He was originally sentenced to serve two years in prison, probated five years, and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, $140 in restitution, $60 in court costs and participate in the TAIP program.
Last week, Armstrong sentenced Wright to two years in prison and to pay $610 in court costs and $4,153 in restitution.
The sentence will be served concurrently with two other prison terms Armstrong ordered for Wright last week.
Wright will serve two consecutive five-year terms for possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony.
On the drug charge, which occurred on March 30, Wright must also pay $969 in court costs. He was found in possession of more than one gram, but less than four grams, of methamphetamine.
On the gun charge, he was ordered to pay $909 in court costs for the March 30 offense.
Bridgett Christensen, 30, of Snyder, had her probation revoked for the Oct. 7, 2014 offense of debit card abuse, a state-jail felony.
Her probation was revoked for testing positive for methamphetamine on three different occasions in October 2015 and signing a form admitting to using methamphetamine seven different times between August and November 2015.
Christensen also failed to report to adult probation office appointments in October and November 2015 and failed to pay her fine or supervision fees from July to November 2015.
She was originally sentenced to serve two years in prison, probated for three years, and ordered to pay $1,244 in restitution, a $1,500 fine and $610 in court costs. She was also ordered to participate in the TAIP program.
Armstrong ordered Christensen to serve two years in prison, pay $610 in court costs and $4,937 in restitution for violating the terms of her probation.
Randy Allen Summerlin, 49, of San Angelo, will serve concurrent seven-year sentences for driving while intoxicated, a third-degree felony, and bail jumping/failure to appear, a third-degree felony.
On the DWI charge, which was a Nov. 29, 2013 offense, Summerlin was sentenced to serve seven years, pay a $1,500 fine, $1,094 in court costs and to have his driver’s license suspended for 270 days. On the bail jumping charge, which was a Sept. 4, 2014 offense, he was ordered to pay a $909 fine and to serve seven years in jail.
