Sutherlands may not be the only large retailer looking at opening in Snyder.
An Austin company is marketing a pair of commercial developments near the intersection of College Ave. and Memorial Way as Walmart Supercenter shadow anchored sites.
According to Retail Solutions’ website, the company is seeking tenants for two proposed commercial projects.
Wisdom Place would be located on Memorial Way, west of College Ave.
According to the website, the company is proposing to bring an Anytime Fitness and Verizon store to the development, which it states has an additional 21,900 square feet of available space.
The company had earlier marketed a location at the corner of Memorial Way and College Ave., but that parcel is located in a flood zone and is dissected by two utility rights-of-way.
Travis Wisdom, who owns the property, previously told the Snyder City Council that he planned to build homes on the property.
Two lots have been sold in the first phase of Talbott Trace, but there has been no construction on those lots.
The second development, called The Trading Post, is on the east side of College Ave., just north of Walmart Supercenter. According to the company’s website, plans could include a Murphry USA gas station and more than 22,000-square feet of retail space.
Several years ago, Retail Solutions proposed a different development on the same site, but its sign was removed and a new sales agent began marketing the site.
Retail Solutions also has projects in Sweetwater, Big Spring, Lubbock, Midland and Abilene, as well as other West Texas cities.
