Ballot finalized for Nov. 6 general election

The field for the Nov. 6 general election is set.
The Scurry County Clerk’s office received the certified ballot from the Texas Secretary of State’s office recently and it included no write-in candidates for any office.
A person must register by Oct. 9 in order to be eligible to vote in the election. Early voting is scheduled for Oct. 22 through Nov. 2 on the first floor of the Scurry County Courthouse. On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the county.
Here is the official list of candidates, with party affiliation in parenthesis (R is Republican, D is Democrat, L is Libertarian), that will appear on the ballot:

Also on Nov. 6, voters in the Hermleigh ISD and Ira ISD will cast ballots in the board of trustees elections. Seven candidates will run for the three seats on the Hermleigh ISD board while 10 people filed to run for four seats on the Ira ISD board.
In Hermleigh, the field includes John M. Harty Sr., John S. “Jack” Harty II, David K. “Bubba” Botts, Michael Hildebrand, Gerald P. Rodriguez, John “Big John” Pence and Justin White.
The 10 candidates who filed in Ira were Jerry Jamison, Dirk Dunn, Justin Donelson, Megan Shultz, Bill Walker, Justin Taylor, Jason Gruben, Tanner Poole, Dustin Murdock and Kayci Wall. 
In Hermleigh, early voting, which will be the same dates as the general election, will be held in the Hermleigh Community Center. In Ira, early voting will be held in the Roy Sallee Gym lobby. 
Both locations will be their respective district’s polling site on Nov. 6.
