Bank deposits, loans fell in fourth quarter

Outstanding loans and deposits fell as a group among the banks that reported information during the past quarter, and both measures were down compared to a year ago as well.
Combined, the banks who made information available reported holding $321.6 million in deposits as of Dec. 31, 2016, and $141.3 million in outstanding loans. The banks reported a combined $322.2 million in deposits at the end of September and $349.6 million in deposits in December 2015.
First Bank and Trust was the lone bank to report an increase in deposits over the past quarter. The bank reported deposits of $63.4 million in December compared to $60.6 million in September. In December 2015, the bank reported deposits of $67.5 million.
AimBank was level over the quarter, reporting $49.9 million in deposits at the end of December compared to $49.9 million at the end of September and $47.3 million last December.
West Texas State Bank reported $110.8 million on deposit compared to September’s total of $111.6 million. Last December the bank reported having $124.2 million on deposit.
Community Bank of Snyder reported having $97.4 million on deposit, compared to $100.1 million on deposit in September. Last December, the bank reported having $110.6 million on deposit.
The banks reported outstanding loans of $141.3 million at the end of December. That compares to $159.6 in outstanding loans in September and $159.8 million last December.
West Texas State Bank reported an increase in outstanding loans compared to last quarter and year-over-year. The bank reported $78.8 million in outstanding loans. In September the bank reported $78.5 million in outstanding loans. Last December the bank reported $75.3 million in loans.
Community Bank of Snyder reported outstanding loans of $49.5 million, compared to September’s $51.5 million. Last December, the bank reported $58.3 million in outstanding loans.
First Bank and Trust reported $13 million in outstanding loans compared to $26.2 million last December. In September, the bank reported $29.6 million in outstanding loans.
