The Scurry County Board of County Development (BCD) will hear three requests for financial assistance when it meets Thursday morning.

Bill Robertson is asking for $1,000 to help pay for a golf course feasibility study. BCD Chairman Wade Warren said Robertson is interested in constructing a golf course at Windmill Ranch Preserve west of Snyder and is asking the board to pay for the feasibility study.

Board members also will hear from two businesses that have applied for storefront improvement grants.

The owner of Uncle A’s BBQ and a building owned by Albert DeLorea that houses Scott and Reed, Attorneys — both located on the downtown square — have applied for funds under the board’s program, which reimburses 50 percent of the cost for building facade improvements, up to $1,000.

Thursday’s meeting will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the third floor courtroom of the Scurry County Courthouse and is open to the public. Time has been set aside for public comment.
