BCISD announces top graduates of 2020 class

Borden County High School has announced its Class of 2020 valedictorian and salutatorian, Callie Ann Hargrove and Camden Blake Edwards.

Hargrove is the daughter of Mark and Amy Hargrove of Snyder. 

She is a member of the National Beta Club and has completed 27 hours of dual credit college classes through Western Texas College. During high school, she has been involved in UIL and FFA. She was a member of the 2019 UIL State Champion current issues and events team, as well as the 2019 State Academic Meet Champion team. 

She also competed in copy editing, editorial writing and informative speaking. She served as the FFA Chapter President, the Lone Wolf District sentinel and reporter, as was the Area II Vice President. 

She competed in multiple FFA contests. 

In 2019 she was selected for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Tour in Washington, D.C. Hargrove will attend Texas A&M University to major in agricultural economics and plans to pursue a master of public service and administration from the Bush School of Government and Public Service. 

She plans to become a licensed crop insurance agent and work in the family business and would like to serve as an agricultural policy adviser to senators and representatives in Washington, D.C. 

Edwards is the son of Kevin and Jennifer Edwards of Ira. 

He is a member of the National Beta Club and has completed 30 hours of dual-credit college classes through Western Texas College. He was a member of the two-time state champion Coyote football team. 

He was recently named to the all-state basketball second team and he has been a member of the all-academic state teams from 2018-2020. In addition, he ran track and cross country and played tennis for the Coyotes. 

He was also involved as a member of the UIL current issues and events Team. 

Upon graduation, Edwards will attend Texas Tech University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in geography with a minor in geoscience.
