Bluto promoted to Major

Micah (Brown) Bluto, daughter of Mike and George Anne Brown of Snyder, was promoted to Major in the United States Air Force on May 15. 

A 1996 graduate of Snyder High School, Bluto joined the Air Force in 1998 and served in the enlisted corps for 13 years. She earned her commission and became an officer in 2011. She is married to Chief Master Sergeant Christopher Bluto, Command Chief of the 482nd Fighter Wing, Homestead ARB, Fla. 

While in the Air Force, Bluto earned a bachelor of science in accounting, a master of science in information technology and an MBA.  

Her assignments have included Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, the Pentagon, Kunsan Air Base in South Korea, Creech Air Force Base in Nevada, and her current duty station, Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. She has deployed to Tuzla Air Base in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates and  performed temporary duty in many overseas and stateside locations.
