The 22nd annual Snyder fish-a-thon is scheduled for April 8 at the Towle Park pond.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and fishing will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The pond will be stocked with channel catfish prior to the event and once it is stocked, fishing will be closed to the public.

The cost is $5 per person and all proceeds will benefit programs provided by the Buffalo Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America. On April 8 only, a person will not be required to have a fishing license to participate in the event.

Prize donations are being accepted by the council. To donate a prize, which will be given out each hour, call Zackary Mullins at (432) 212-3577.

Vendor spaces will be available and the cost is $250 per group. The vendor must comply with all state and local health regulations. To apply, email zack.mullins@scouting.org.

Camping also will be available this year, but is limited to Scouts and their immediate families.

Campers will be required to uphold the values of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law during camping, said organizer James Bond.

He said no fishing will be allowed by campers or their families until the official start Saturday morning.

“All campsites must be packed up by the end of the fish-a-thon,” Bond said.

Call Bond at (325) 436-7772 for information on camping or to register for a campsite.
