Nominations for the annual Snyder Chamber of Commerce awards will be accepted beginning in January, chamber officials said.
The annual Chamber Banquet, which will be held April 25 at The Coliseum, will honor individuals and businesses for their service to the community.
Events Coordinator Josh Ortegon said he is currently working to secure a guest speaker for the banquet.
Among the honors to be bestowed during the banquet is the McLaughlin Award, which is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the oil industry, and the Winston Award, presented to a person who displays leadership and progressiveness in agriculture.
Chamber President/CEO Linda Molina said other awards include:
• The Exemplary Service Award, which will go to an individual who promotes Snyder wherever they go.
• The Chamber’s Choice Award, given to the person who goes above and beyond for the chamber during the year.
• The Vestal Award, also known as the Mayor’s Award, will be presented to the individual who has made contributions to the development of Snyder through cultural, economic or government-related activities.
• The Sizemore Award, formerly known as the Gold Coater of the Year Award, is presented to the Gold Coat member who tallies the most points according to the group’s point system.
Also to be presented during the banquet will be the chamber’s Business of the Year, and the Education Excellence Award, given to an individual for lifetime achievement in teaching at one of Snyder’s public schools.
