Due to technical issues some individuals had logging into the meeting, Monday’s Snyder City Council meeting was postponed until later this week.

Several council members had difficulty logging into the meeting. Most were finally able to join by phone. Additionally, Monday’s meeting required a password that was not made public. The city’s attorney Bryan Guymon told those on the call that the meeting notice was not sufficient because it didn’t include the password.

When they meet remotely on Friday, council members will vote on several recommendations from the Planning and Zoning Commission, including a rezoning application, minor replat of a residential lot and a major replat of Varsity Square that will open the door for a Golden Chick at the corner of 30th Street and College Ave.

The council is also expected to appoint a new member to the commission.

Council members will also vote on a resolution denying Oncor’s request for a rate increase, whether to extend the city’s COVID-19 disaster declaration, new rates for mowing/cutting of overgrown lots and whether to approve the Development Corporation of Snyder’s Operation Snyder Thrives economic development plan.

The council will also discuss, but not vote on, legal ways to assist businesses and sealcoating projects.

The meeting will begin at noon Friday and is open to the public.

A time has been set aside for comments on non-agenda items.

The public may join by going online to www.zoom.com. After clicking on Join Meeting, enter the meeting code 837 5740 6918 and password 9jmdZH.

To join the meeting by phone, call (346) 248-7799 and enter meeting code 837 5740 6918 and password 872113.
