The joint city-county sealcoating project starts Monday.

The $273,000 project, which will cover approximately 150 blocks, will involve work crews from both the City of Snyder and Scurry County.

City Public Works Director Eli Torres said sealcoating will begin Monday on Austin and Denison avenues from 37th to 42nd streets.

Torres said traffic will be restricted to one lane only on those streets during the project.

“Also, we’re asking people not to park the cars on the street on the weeks we’ll be sealcoating,” he said. “We definitely don’t want to get asphalt on anyone’s car.”

The project is expected to last most of the remainder of July, he said.

Other areas to be sealcoated include:

• Tuesday through Thursday: Avenues T and Z from 25th Street to 30th Street.

• July 17-20: Beaumont Ave. and Ave. U from 30th Street to 32nd Street.

• July 24-27: Ave. T and College Ave. from 25th Street to Old Lubbock Hwy.
