College to host town-hall meeting, movie for MLK Day

Western Texas College is hosting two events this week in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
On Tuesday, the WTC Faculty Association will host a town-hall meeting for students and the public to discuss tolerance and diversity. The meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theater.
On Friday, a free showing of Selma will be held in the planetarium. The movie focuses on King’s march from Selma, Ala. to Montgomery, Ala. in 1965.
The movie was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards in 2015 and won for best original song. It also won the best original song Oscar in 2015.
