The Scurry County Commissioners’ Court will vote on changes to the county’s tax abatement program during Tuesday’s meeting.
Commissioners tabled the abatement guidelines at the Oct. 4 meeting in order for County Attorney Mike Hartman to make changes that address businesses inside and outside the Snyder city limits.
A proposed solar farm at the SnTx Industrial Park is seeking an abatement and is being considered by the Snyder City Council during today’s 5:30 p.m. meeting in the council chambers at Snyder City Hall.
The court will also consider management for the Scurry County Golf Course. On July 19, the county chose not to renew its contract with Two Pros Club Management, LLC.
The court will consider a resolution authorizing a county grant for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s home-delivered meal program and consider refinancing 2009 certificates of obligation.
The court will also consider certification of additional revenue in the form of proceeds from reimbursement of Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) supplies from the West Central Texas Council of Governments as well as proceeds from the Ambulance Supplement Payment Program. The court will also consider selling a surplus ambulance.
Commissioners will consider a request by the Snyder Lions Club to place a bench at Towle Park. Commissioners will also consider accepting donations to the Scurry County Library and Scurry County Senior Citizens’ Center. The court will also consider approval of line-item transfers and budget amendments.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Scurry County Courtroom, located on the third floor of the Scurry County Courthouse and is open to the public. A time is set aside for public comments on non-agenda items.
