The Snyder City Council officially annexed property into the city limits that will be the home to Snyder’s  new auto dealership.
On Monday, the council held the second, and final, reading of an annexation ordinance for the Blake Fulenwider auto dealership on U.S. Hwy. 84. The dealership, which will be located on a 28.059 acre tract on U.S. Hwy. 84, is scheduled to open in 2017.
The final re-plat of the land was not voted on Monday because the paperwork was not ready.
Council members approved a  resolution approving the settlement agreement between the Atmos Cities Steering Committee and Atmos Energy, Corp., for the 2016 rate.
Atmos representative Shawn Martin said the rate increase is for infrastructure improvements. He told the council that customers would see an average increase of $1.26 on their monthly bill.
The council also approved the STAR boot camp program update and City Manager Merle Taylor said solar power generation requests for proposals could be mailed this week. Taylor also asked the council members to consider joining a distribution asset ownership program with Oncor. A vote to join the group will be held during a future meeting.
Three bids were accepted by the council — Heartland Asphalt’s bid for asphalt, Vulcan Material’s bid for aggregate and Warren Cat’s bid for a Catepillar D6T XL-T4. The Caterpillar bid price through the Buy Board was $234,574, which was under the budgeted amount of $385,000.
