During a 30-minute videoconference meeting Monday, the Snyder City Council approved a 40-year contract to supply water to Ira Water Supply Corporation (IWSC).
The extension was a requirement of a loan that IWSC is seeking to upgrade water supply lines for its customers. According to the city’s attorney, Bryan Guymon, the contract approval was not contingent on the IWSC receiving the loan.
The council accepted the resignation of long-time Planning and Zoning Commission chairman Bob Martin. He was appointed to the council in the 1980s. The council tabled a vote on appointing a replacement on the commission. The commission will elect a new chairman at a future meeting.
The council also re-appointed Jeff Knowles and Steve Mackey to the Colorado River Municipal Water District board.
The council approved specifications for the employee health insurance plan and online bids for two parcels the city holds in trust.
The first is a $500 bid from Justin D. Miller for a parcel at the northwest corner of 22nd Street and Ave. N and the second is a $2,001 bid from Maria Esparza for a parcel at 1311 20th Street.
Although the council approved the coverage specifications of the insurance plan, the premiums were not discussed and will be approved at a future meeting.
