The Scurry County Commissioners’ Court will consider cancelling its tax abatement agreement with Fluvanna Renewable Energy Project, LLC, at the company’s request, and consider a new agreement when it meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
“The agreement will basically be the same,” said County Judge Ricky Fritz, noting the project will now be located entirely in Scurry County.
Commissioners will also vote to abolish a reinvestment zone established in July 2013, and discuss establishing a new zone that includes additional acreage for the wind farm project.
The Snyder ISD board of trustees approved changes to its initial agreement for the project during a December meeting.
Commissioners will consider adopting the guidelines and criteria for future tax abatements, as well as seek competitive proposals from solar power suppliers for the law enforcement center.
The meeting will be in the Scurry County courtroom, located on the third floor of the Scurry County Courthouse, and is open to the public. No time is set aside for public comment.
