County still in extreme drought

Scurry County remains in an extreme drought stage with week, but the exceptional drought stage area in West Texas is growing.
Portions of Howard and Mitchell counties are listed in the exceptional drought stage, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
The National Weather Service is not forecasting any precipitation the next seven days and temperatures will remain in the 90s throughout the weekend.
As of this morning, 90 Texas counties are under a burn ban, including Scurry, Borden, Fisher and Garza counties.
