The Development Corporation of Snyder (DCOS) board of directors gave Executive Director Bill Lavers the authority to negotiate the sale of 13-plus acres in the SnTx Industrial Park to Steve Wiseman.
Lavers said the land is considered the “least desirable lot” in the park and would not be developed by the DCOS. He also said the lot does not have any utility lines.
Wiseman owns property adjacent to the lot and Lavers said the tract would make his property a rectangle. Wiseman will pay $19,500 as well as for the survey.
Board member Melissa Petty, who is a Realtor, said the price was “very reasonable,” when asked for her opinion of the price.
Today’s meeting was the final one for board chairman Shawn Ragland, who was first appointed in 2010.
Snyder Mayor Tony Wofford is scheduled to name his replacement during the Oct. 3 Snyder City Council meeting. The council will vote on his selection.
Following a 47-minute closed session to discuss prospects, incentives and real property, the board took no action.
