Feb. 29 is the deadline for families to enroll in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund program.
The state’s prepaid college tuition program allows participants to purchase tuition units based on current prices and avoid future increases in the cost of undergraduate tuition and schoolwide required fees at Texas public colleges and universities.
“Families concerned about the rising costs of higher education can lock in today’s rates at Texas public colleges and universities by prepaying tuition and schoolwide required fees through the Promise Fund,” Comptroller Glenn Hegar said. “The plan has a range of payment options that gives Texas parents and grandparents the flexibility they need to plan ahead and provide future opportunities for their children and grandchildren.”
Under the plan, families may prepay tuition and schoolwide required fees for a four-year degree, two years of community college or just a few semesters by purchasing tuition units. The deadline for children under one has been extended to July 31.
