Five indicted on felony charges

Five individuals were indicted recently on felony charges.

Marvin Eugene Sheets III, 35, of Snyder was indicted on charges of burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony; unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony; and possession of a controlled substance, a state-jail felony. 

According to the first indictment, on Sept. 12, 2019, Sheets entered a habitation without the consent of the owner in order to commit theft of property. 

According to the second indictment, on July 4, 2020, Sheets intentionally possessed a firearm while forbidden to do so due to a previous felony conviction. According to the third indictment, on April 29, 2020, Sheets was found to be in possession of less than one gram of cocaine. 

Bond was set at $10,000 for the first charge, and $5,000 for each of the other two.

Jose Guadalupe Urrutia, 39, of El Paso was indicted on a charge of driving while intoxicated, a third-degree felony. 

According to the indictment, on Sept. 14, 2019, Urrutia operated a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated. 

Urrutia had two previous felony convictions for driving while intoxicated.

Bond was set at $5,000.

Sebastian Gonzales, 29, of Snyder was indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, a state-jail felony. According to the indictment, on April 25, 2020, Gonzales knowingly possessed less than one gram of methamphetamine. 

Bond was set at $5,000.

Raymond Hernandez, 36, of Snyder was indicted on two charges of burglary of a building, each a state-jail felony. 

According to the indictments, on Jan. 13, 2020, Hernandez intentionally entered two different buildings without the consent of the owners in order to commit thefts of property. 

Bond was set at $5,000 per charge.

Jonathan Paul Verduzco, 28, of Snyder was indicted on a charge of arson, a state-jail felony, and on two counts of endangering a child, each a state-jail felony.

According to the arson indictment, on June 23, 2020, Verduzco intentionally started a fire by using a lighter to ignite clothes inside a closet, causing damage to a building owned by another person. According to the endangerment indictments, Verduzco endangered the lives of two children younger than 15 years old by starting the fire on June 23. 

Bond was set at $5,000 for each of the three charges
