Forecast calls for one inch of rain in Scurry County

Scurry County could see rain totals top one inch over the next 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 10:30 a.m. today, Winston Field received 0.02 of an inch of rain, but more was in the forecast this afternoon and continuing into Tuesday.

The weather service said the county could receive between one-half and three-quarters of an inch of rain today as a cold front moved through the region.

Tonight, a 90 percent chance of rain is in the forecast and totals could be between one-half and three-quarters of an inch. 

A 70 percent chance of rain is in the forecast for Tuesday with totals reaching one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch. The weather service said clouds should clear by Tuesday evening.
