The Snyder Fire Department will once again help organize entries for Snyder’s annual Fourth of July parade in Towle Park.

Snyder Chamber of Commerce Events Coordinator Josh Ortegon said the parade lineup will begin at 9 a.m. and the parade will roll through the park at 10 a.m.

“(Fire Chief) Perry (Westmoreland) and his guys are wonderful. They have this down to an art form and we really appreciate what they do,” he said.

The parade will have the same route as last year and will start at Moffett Field and head southeast down Towle Park Road North. The parade will pass the skate park, the pool and splash pad and will follow the loop in front of the playground equipment near the former Prairie Dog Town.

From there it will turn on to Towle Park Road, passing the pavilion and armory before ending at the youth baseball fields.

A portion of Houston Ave. will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. until the end of the parade. To the north, Houston Ave. will be barricaded just south of the intersection of 42nd Street. The south end will be barricaded just north of Buck Logan Road, which runs between Moffett Field and the Little League fields.

The staging area will be the same as previous years. On the north end of the staging area, only parade pedestrian drop-offs will be permitted. There will be no parking and there is no place for additional vehicles.

On the south end of the staging area, people with go-carts, motorcycles and other parade vehicles needing to be unloaded from trailers will be permitted on the south Moffett Field parking lot located at the southwest corner of the field.

Only vehicles driving in the parade will be allowed into the staging area, and all vehicles must enter from the south, using Houston Ave.

Participants do not have to register to be part of the parade, Ortegon said.
