Grand jury indicts two for second-degree felony drug possession

Two people were indicted by a Scurry County grand jury this week for second-degree felony drug possession.

Muhammad Masud, 29, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., was indicted for a March 21 offense of possession of a controlled substance. 

According to the indictment, Masud was found in possession of four grams or more, but less than 400 grams, of tetrahydrocannabinol. His bond was set at $15,000.

Joy Latoya King, 42, of Hobbs, N.M., was also indicted for possession of a controlled substance, an April 7 offense. 

She was arrested for being in possession of four grams or more, but less than 400 grams, of tetrahydrocannabinol, the indictment stated. Her bond was set at $15,000.

Larry Joe Martinez, 50, of Snyder, was indicted for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, a third-degree felony. 

The indictment stated that on Sept. 24, Martinez destroyed a controlled substance in connection with a possession of a controlled substance investigation. His bond was set at $5,000.

Martinez has previous convictions for delivery of a controlled substance (1995) and evading arrest (2014), both in Scurry County, according to the indictment.

Sandra Ann Rowe, 54, of Snyder, was indicted for the June 14 offense of forgery, a third-degree felony. 

She signed a check for $99.37 without the permission of the account holder, the indictment stated. Bond was set at $5,000.

Jakob Sanchez, 37, of Snyder was indicted for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, a third-degree felony. 

The indictment stated that Sanchez, on May 15, was convicted of aggravated sexual assault, but did not notify the Scurry County Sheriff’s Office of an address change. Bond was set at $5,000.

Marcus Wayne Hoyle, 22, of Snyder, was indicted for the July 7 state-jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. 

According to the indictment, Hoyle was found in possession of less than one gram of cocaine. Bond was set at $5,000.

Raul Bernal Villa, 49, of Snyder, was indicted for state-jail felony theft, a July 23 offense.  He attempted to take tire pods from his victim, the indictment stated. Bond was set at $5,000.

The indictment stated Villa was previously convicted in Scurry County for theft, the first time in March 2016 and the second in June 2016.
