David Harrell has announced his candidacy for re-election as the Pct. 3 Scurry County Commissioner.
In announcing his candidacy, Harrell said, “It has been my pleasure to serve the people of Precinct 3 for the last three years as county commissioner. I appreciate the confidence shown to me by my constituents and plan to continue fulfilling my duties to the best of my ability.
“Having been a successful private business owner since 1993, I understand the importance of efficiently and effectively managing the county’s business. We have held the tax rate at virtually the same level over the past three years. We have lowered the budget for 2016.
“As we experience $40 per barrel oil, it will be necessary to streamline each department through cost reductions and process efficiencies while maintaining the necessary services to our community. Our senior center, parks, airport, roads and library are very important to the quality of life in Scurry Country and must be maintained properly. These assets benefit us all and help differentiate us from other counties and communities.
“I look forward to being part of the good things and continued growth in our community and I would like to ask for your vote and continued support.”
