Mike Hartman has announced his candidacy for re-election as county attorney.
In announcing his candidacy, Hartman said, “I have been proud to serve the citizens of this county as county attorney for the past 23 years. During my tenure as county attorney, I have implemented a ‘hot check’ collection program that has collected and returned more than $1.5 million to local merchants. Additionally, my office has processed more than 12,000 criminal cases, ranging from traffic tickets to drug possession.
“I am blessed to have a great staff that endeavors to treat everyone fairly, while efficiently performing their duties.
“I have served on numerous local boards, clubs and commissions since moving to Scurry County, including serving on the chamber of commerce board, Ritz Theatre board, Snyder Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse board and the Snyder Lions Club.
“Additionally, on a state level, I currently serve on the Texas District and County Attorneys Association Civil Law Committee as well as being a member of their DWI Prosecutor Summit Committee.
“My wife, Dana, the director of the Scurry County Health Unit, and I work tirelessly for the residents of this county. I would like to continue to put my experience to work as your county attorney and would be honored to have your support in this election.”
