The Hermleigh ISD board of trustees will take the first step in replacing Brent Dawson as superintendent on Tuesday.
The board is scheduled to vote on using CCR Educational Consultants to conduct the search. Last week, the board named CCR consultant Skip Casey as the interim superintendent. Dawson is retiring effective Oct. 5 and Casey will be on the campus beginning Oct. 1.
Casey’s company has been used by several school districts, including Ira ISD’s search after Jay Waller retired last year.
Trustees will also vote on the teacher appraisal calendar and an agreement to have the 4-H organization be considered an extracurricular activity, which has been done for several years.
Reports from the administrative staff will also be presented during the meeting and a closed session to discuss personnel is listed on the agenda. Any action from the closed session will be taken in open session.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the administration office boardroom and is open to the public. A time has been set aside for the public to comment on non-agenda items.
