Highfield named runner-up in Big Country Electric speech contest

Ira High School sophomore Sabrina Highfield was named the runner-up during Wednesday’s  Big Country Electric Cooperative Government In Action Youth Tour speech contest.
Highfield received a $1,500 scholarship and will be eligible to attend the tour if one of the top three finishers is unable to travel to Washington, D.C.
Mollie Hagler of Anson, Elle-Kaye Terry of Roby and Bryanna Birdsong of Stamford will represent Big Country Electric on the  10-day, all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. in June. The three students also received a $1,500 scholarship.
Matthew Ramirez and Autumn Cleveland, both of Roby, also participated in the contest and received a $750 scholarship.
