Keeli Hines is looking forward to the next adventure in her life.
Earlier this month, she was named Ira ISD’s chief financial officer, replacing Morgan Preston who is taking over as business manager at Snyder ISD.
Hines, the wife of Snyder Deputy Fire Marshal Nathan Hines, has been working in oilfield finance for the past 15 years.
“I am excited to be in a school that we have heard so many wonderful things about,” she said.
Her two sons, Gunner and Cason, will attend Ira ISD.
“This is a good opportunity for us as a family,” Hines said.
She hopes her experience in oilfield finance carries over to school finance, but she knows she has a lot to learn. She has spent the past two weeks training with Preston.
“I hope everything I learned in the oilfield will help me here,” she said. “It is exciting to do something new.”
The Snyder High School and Tarleton State University graduate was hired on a one-year probationary contract. The board approved her hiring earlier this month.
Superintendent Brian Patterson said he was pleased with Hines’ credentials. He received 15 resumes and said Hines stood out during the interview process
“She is very qualified and I look forward to working with her,” he said. “She is going to fit in well with our school district and our staff. She is already working to learn the complex issues we face in school finance and I think she will do a great job.”
