HISD board expected to name superintendent finalist Monday

The Hermleigh ISD board of trustees is expected to name the lone finalist for its superintendent position during a called meeting on Monday.
The board is scheduled to go into closed session and discuss the vacancy created by the retirement of Ronnie Roemisch. Trustees will reconvene in open session and are expected to vote on the lone finalist.
A second meeting, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, will be held to review the superintendent’s contract.
Once the lone finalist is named, the board must wait 21 days before finalizing the contract.
Roemisch is retiring at the end of his contract on June 30 and has helped the board with the search.
Both meetings will be held in the school district boardroom and are open to the public.
