The Building Standards Commission allowed the owner of a house located at 1305 24th Street an additional 90 days to complete electrical work and install sheetrock.
Lenora Maldonado, the property’s owner, said electrical work is delaying renovations. She hopes to receive an estimate for the work this week.
Once the electrical work is complete, the home will be inspected by City Inspector Dan Hicks. He said during Monday’s commission meeting that the plumbing work meets city code.
After the electrical work is complete and passes inspection, sheetrock will be installed.
Hicks said when the sheetrock is installed, the home would be considered livable.
The property has been before the commission multiple times since it was damaged by a fire more than two years ago. The commission voted each time to give Maldonado additional time to make progress in making the house livable.
