The Scurry Council Hospital District board of directors will receive an update on the mineral value miscalculation during Wednesday’s meeting.
Last month, the board discussed the miscalculation that was discovered by Thomas Y. Pickett in August. The miscalculation cost the district $245,000 in revenue.
During the September board meeting, chairman Russell Riggan suggested reducing the district’s payments to the Scurry County Appraisal District by 10 percent for 10 years to recoup the loss. The district pays the appraisal district $112,000 per year.
Since the September meeting, officials learned that Pickett had filed a claim through its errors and omissions insurance policy.
Also on Wednesday, the board will vote on policy updates, credentials for Dr. Frank Saunders and Dr. Carla Soler, who both work in the walk-in clinic, and a construction loan resolution. The loan for $10 million has been tabled the last two months because paperwork was not complete.
The board will also discuss the meeting dates for November and December and receive updates from the nursing department and administration.
A closed session to discuss personnel is scheduled. Any action will be taken in open session.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the administration wing boardroom, and is open to the public.
