Hospital board to hear financial audit findings

The Scurry County Hospital District will receive its 2015 audit report during Wednesday’s meeting.
Brent Fuller of Durbin and Company will present the financial audit findings and the board is scheduled to vote on accepting the report.
The board and administration will also make a presentation to outgoing board members Jim Bob Cave and Morris Light before swearing in new board members.
Loretta McCravey, who was appointed to the board last year, is the Pct. 2 representative and Bennie Marricle is the Pct. 4 member. Andrea Martini will be one of the three at-large members on the board. The three board members did not draw opposition during the May 7 election.
Directors will also appoint members to the finance committee. Cave and Light were members of the committee. The date and time for the monthly board and finance committee meetings will be discussed and approved by directors.
Chief Executive Officer Ella Helms will present information about an interlocal agreement with the county for shared employee fitness benefits.
Last week, the Scurry County Commissioners’ Court approved the agreement which allows hospital employees and family members to join the county employees’ Monday swim nights at the Towle Park pool in exchange for county employees being able to use the hospital’s rehab and fitness center.
Chief Financial Officer John Everett will discuss advertising for bids for the district’s depository and reports from the construction team, nursing, administration and medical staff will be presented.
Credentials for Dr. Darrell Franks will be presented for approval, as will several policies, procedures and forms. They are mammography section policy, equipment management procedures/quality assurance program, cataract care plan for ophthalmology, nutritional assessment of patients, calorie count, in-patient diet orders, patient food from non-hospital sources, nutritional consult, day surgery nourishment policy, clear liquid policy, nutritional screening perinatal patient, meal rounds/patient visitation, therapeutic diet policy, nutritional screening, new menus, hand hygiene and personal hygiene.
A closed session to discuss personnel is scheduled and any action will be taken in open session.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Cogdell Memorial Hospital administration wing boardroom and is open to the public.
