Hospital district to cancel election at Wednesday morning meeting

Scurry County Hospital District’s governing board is expected to cancel the the scheduled May 2 board member election since there are no contested races. 
Loretta McCravey, District 2, Benny Marricle, District 4 and Andrea Martini in an at-large seat were all up for re-election. All three incumbents filed for re-election to their seats, and no challengers filed to oppose them. 
Chief Nursing Officer Kathy Goodwin will give a report on infection control risk assessment and surveillance data, and the hospital’s infection control surveillance plan for 2020.
Board members will consider approval of tax deed property sales, and will hear reports on finance, nursing, quality management and administration during the meeting. In administration report, Cogdell’s Chief Executive Officer Ella Raye Helms will present an overview of the hospital’s disaster plan. 
Directors will meet in closed executive session to receive and discuss the hospital’s quality assurance report, and to discuss personnel matters. If action is required on either, the board will return to open session to vote.
The board will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the Cogdell Memorial Hospital board room in the administrative wing.
