HOT committee to recommend $17,000 in local event funding

The Snyder Chamber of Commerce Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) committee met Monday and heard three presentations for HOT funds. At the Jan. 27 Chamber of Commerce board meeting, the HOT committee will recommend the chamber award $17,000 to help fund the events.
Kendall and Russell Riggan of CrossFit Snyder applied for $10,000 to host the Granite Games crossfit competition Feb. 22. The committee voted to recommend $5,000.
Greg Rhodes of Western Texas College applied for $10,000 to help fund the college’s annual National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association rodeo. 
The committee voted to recommend the entire $10,000 requested. 
Trina Upshaw of Cruz’nCuts applied for $2,500 to fund a new program, located at the Snyder Armory, called March Madness Market Days. The committee voted to recommend approval of $2,000 for the program.
