Jury selection begins in drug trial

Jury selection began today in 132nd District Court in the trial of one of the 12 people arrested during a May drug bust.
Ashlle Marie Sanchez, 23, of Snyder, is on trial for the  state-jail felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance. She was found in possession of less than one gram on methamphetamine on Jan. 29.
On May 28, at least 60 law enforcement officers executed two search warrants in Snyder and 13 people were taken into custody.
Following the warrants being executed, Scurry County Sheriff Trey Wilson and Snyder Police Chief Terry Luecke announced the arrest of 12 individuals, including Sanchez, following a nearly one-year investigation.
Judge Ernie B. Armstrong is presiding over the case. Ben Smith is representing the state and Jill Propst of Lubbock is representing Sanchez.
