Local bank deposits increase; loans down

The total amount Snyder’s banks held on deposit at the end of December jumped $24.2 million in the past three months and $50.8 million compared to last December, while at the same time outstanding loans are tracking downward.

Combined, the banks who made information available reported holding $372.4 million in deposits as of Dec. 31, and $123 million in outstanding loans.

The banks reported a combined $348.2 million in deposits at the end of September and $321.6 million in deposits in December 2016.

All four banks reported increased deposits over the last quarter and three out of the four local banks saw increases in their deposit figures compared to last year. 

First Bank and Trust reported $99.2 million on deposit at the end of December compared to $63.4 million on deposit last December.  At the end of September, the bank reported $89.8 million on deposit.

AimBank reported $60.5 million on deposit at the end of December, compared to $50 million at the end of last December. In September, the bank reported holding $57.5 million on deposit.

West Texas State Bank reported $106.9 million on deposit in December compared to September’s total of $102.6 million. Last December the bank reported having $110.8 million on deposit.

Community Bank of Snyder reported having $105.8 million on deposit in December, compared to $98.3 million on deposit in September. Last December, the bank reported having $97.4 million on deposit.

The banks reported outstanding loans of $123 million at the end of December, compared to $133.5 million in outstanding loans in September and $141.3 million last December. 

All three banks that provided information reported a decrease in outstanding loans.

West Texas State Bank reported $66.2 million in outstanding loans at the end of December. In September the bank reported $71.5 million in loans. Last December the bank reported $78.8 million in outstanding loans.

Community Bank of Snyder reported $47.2 million in outstanding loans at the end of December, compared to September’s $52 million. Last December, the bank reported $49.5 million in outstanding loans.

First Bank and Trust reported $9.6 million in outstanding loans compared to $10 million at the end of September. Last December, the bank reported $13 million in outstanding loans.
