COVID-19 cases in Scurry County and around the state have declined recently as local students return to school.
Scurry County active COVID-19 cases are down from 54 on Aug. 28 to 41 Friday. The county is holding steady at two deaths related to the disease, and 264 recovered of a total 307 positive cases year-to-date.
